...The Tigers plan to invite 30 children's baseball teams to 10 games at Koshien Stadium (between 7/19 and 8/31).

...The Tigers had another double-digit hit game yesterday.  That's now 5 double-digit hit games in a row.

...Takashi Toritani led off yesterday's game with a homer, the third in his career.  His last lead-off homer came against the Giants on 9/8/2007 at Tokyo Dome.  Daily Sports Online also mentions that it was the second time he hit a lead-off homer on the first pitch he saw.

...Craig Brazell has hit five homers in his last four games (that's three one homer games and one 2 homer game).  His two homers yesterday put him atop the NPB leaderboard for homers with 22.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto is now one homer away from 450.

...Takumi Akiyama suffered his first pro loss against Ni-gun Orix on Sunday.  Final line: 6 IP, 24 BF, 6 H, 1 BB, 3 SO, 1 ER.  The one run Akiyama allowed was a solo homer to Freddie Bynum.

...Atsushi Nomi did some training outdoors yesterday at Naruohama for the first time since fracturing his right foot in May.  His workouts included about 25 minutes of walking between the outfield foul poles and about 10 minutes of catch (at a max distance of about 30 meters).
