Chunichi Dragons: June 22, 2010

...Kenta Asakura worked out at Hamamatsu Stadium yesterday in preparation for his start today.  Asakura's last Ichi-gun start came on 5/18 (vs Chiba Lotte Marines).  Asakura was originally supposed to pitch again on the 27th, but that start ended up going to Kazuki Yoshimi and he ended up getting taken off the active roster.  Asakura has lost his last two starts in a row.

...Kenichi Nakata will likely start tomorrow's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars.  Nakata has not been somewhat inconsistent and ineffective (6 GS, 1-2, 5.00 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) and a bad start today could mean a demotion to Ni-gun.

...Takehiro Donoue joined the Ichi-gun team for practice yesterday and will likely be added to the active roster today.  If Takehiro and his younger brother, Naomichi, play in the same game, the Tigers could have their first brother combo on the field since the Nimura brothers in 1990.

...Kazuhiro Wada worked out on his day off yesterday.  Wada is currently in the middle of a mini-slump:  he has just 1 hit in his last 20 trips to the plate.
