Shibata High School granted special permission to compete

Seeding for the Miyagi tournament took place on Tuesday.  78 schools were selected for the tournament that will take place between 7/10 and 7/24.  It was also decided that the Finals game will take place at Kleenex Stadium.

The Miyagi Baseball Federation was also notified on the 18th by fourth seeded Shibata High School that they uncovered a bullying problem -- 7 second year students were bullying 12 first year students.

As for why Shibata High School made it into the tournament despite the bullying:  it seems the Federation got special permission from the Japan High School Baseball Federation that will allow the high school to participate in the tournament, provided they leave all 14 second year students off the roster for the tournaments.  That means Shibata High School will have to pull together a team from a group of 20 players (8 third year students and 12 first year students).
