...The Giants announced earlier today that they managed to collect 10,761,390 yen in donations for foot and mouth disease relief efforts in Miyazaki. The Giants had been collecting donations at home games since 6/4. The total does not include donations made in foreign currencies.
The Giants are also still running a charity auction (until the 28th) of various player memorabilia where all proceeds will be donated to Miyazaki.

...Shinnosuke Abe recorded his third 2-homer game of the season (all coming in June) and now has 24 homers so far this year (67 games into the season), putting him in line for the club's first 50-homer batter since Hideki Matsui in 2002. That means Abe could also end up breaking Katsuya Nomura's single-season home run record of 52 for a catcher, set in 1963.
...Seth Greisinger could toss some BP sometime within the coming week. On Saturday, Greisinger threw 89 pitches in the bullpen and said that he felt he was ready to begin throwing against live batters. Assuming everything goes well, he could be back in mid-July.
Tetsuya Matsumoto will likely play in Ni-gun game against Shonan on the 28th.
