...Takayuki Kishi will likely get tonight's start against the Nippon Ham Fighters.  He's planning on making sure tonight's game ends in a timely fashion so that Lions' fans won't miss any World Cup Soccer (Japan vs Paraguay begins at 11pm JST).

"I want to avoid giving up the boring walk.  Not just in terms of setting the tone of the game, but also for the soccer fans," said Kishi.

Kishi will also be going for his 10th victory of the season.  If / when he secures his 10th victory, he will become the third pitcher in franchise history to record 4 consecutive seasons of double-digit victories.  The last pitcher to put together 4 or more consecutive seasons of double-digit victories: Masaaki Ikenaga between 1965 and 1969.
