...The Giants smacked 8 homers tonight and tied a franchise record that was last set on 6/28/1985.

...Tetsuya Matsumoto played in a Ni-gun game against Shonan earlier today and went 0-1: strikeout swinging, walk.  Matsumoto started in center and batted second; he was taken out of the game in the 4th on defense.  It was his first game in about a month.

...Tetsuya Matsumoto could return to the active roster as early as 7/2 (vs Hanshin).  Much will depend on how things go for Matsumoto over the next few days (he will be playing / had already played in his first Ni-gun rehab game today).

...The Giants charity auction ended last night.  The managed to pull in a total 3,911,327 yen through the auction.  That means the Giants will be donating a total 14,672,717 to foot and mouth disease relief efforts in Miyazaki.
