...The Bay Stars gave up 10 runs to the Yakult Swallows last night. That's the 9th time this year that the pitching staff allowed double-digit runs in one game.
The Bay Stars were also shutout for the 8th time this year.
...Daisuke Miura didn't have a very good outing last night (he gave up 5 earned runs over 4.2 innings of work), but he did manage to record 6 strikeouts. That gives Miura sole possession of first place on the franchise list for strikeouts with 2,051 (16th on the All-time NPB list).
Incidentally, the franchise record-setting strikeout victim, #2,046, was Aaron Guiel in the first inning.
...TBS Holdings held a stockholders meeting yesterday. During a Q&A session, stockholders questioned why thy were spending so much money on the Bay Stars (as an advertising medium), despite yearly losses of over 1B yen. It seems some stockholders also suggested adding TBS into the team name in order to give the company more exposure.
TBS apparently replied by saying that they were simply doing their part to support the sport and that they were spending money on the team in an effort to make it stronger.
