...Yuya Ando will likely start tonight's game against the Chunichi Dragons.  Ando has been making adjustments at Ni-gun and has not started an Ichi-gun game since 4/25.  Ando's Ni-gun numbers:

G W L Sv CG ShO WPCT BF IP H HR BB IBB HBP SO WP BK R ER ERA
5 1 1 0 0 0 .500 126 32.0 31 0 3 0 1 23 1 0 9 6 1.69

...Matt Murton has hit safely in 15 straight games.  This is the second time this season Murton has put together a 15-game hitting streak.  In addition, of the 68 games Murton has played in this season, he has been held hitless in only 8 of them.  In three of those 8 games, he picked up walks to get on base.

...Owner Shinya Sakai wants Tomoaki Kanemoto to keep on playing.

Said Sakai, "Kanemoto helps bring the team together and helps keep the order.  I've only seen him play at Koshien Stadium, but he seems to draw the attraction of the fans when he steps in as a pinch-hitter.  The fans must love him too.  I don't really know when he'll be returning [to the active roster] but I'd really love to watch a healthy Kanemoto play again."

Sakai also added, "Every player will come to a point in their careers when they need to retire.  As far as Kanemoto is concerned, we won't be making that decision for him.  He's Hanshin's, no, baseball's treasure."

...Kazuhito Futagami started an Ikusei game against the Fukui Miracle Elephants (BC League) yesterday and allowed a run over 5 innings of work.  He also gave up 2 hits, struck out 7, and topped out at 143km/h.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

...Ryuji Wakatake will likely be added to the active roster in order to help bolster the bullpen.  Wakatake appeared to have won a spot on the active roster prior to the start of the season, but then injured his left knee during an exhibition game.  He made it back in late May and has since put up decent numbers in 5 Ni-gun games.  Wakatake's 2010 Ni-gun numbers:
