Games from the 1st:

Angels 2 - Rangers 1
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted sixth.  He went 0-for-3: strikeout swinging, fly out to center, fly out to right.

Yankees 4 - Mariners 2
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: fly out to center, ground out to first, ground out to third, single to center.

Athletics 8 - Orioles 1
Koji Uehara entered the game in the 9th, with the Orioles down 8-1, and tossed a scoreless inning in relief.  Final line: 1 IP, 5 BF, 2 H, 2 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

Reds 3 - Cubs 2
Kosuke Fukudome entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the 8th.  With runners on first and second and no out, Fukudome laid down a sac bunt to advance to the runners.  The Cubs were down 2-0 at the time.  Fukudome did not stay in the game after the inning.

Nationals 2 - Mets 1
Ryota Igarashi entered the game in the 9th, bases loaded and one out, with the score tied at one, and allowed the winning run to score on a walk-off sac fly to the outfield.  Final line: 0.1 IP, 1 BF, 0 H, 0 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.


Akinori Iwamura went 1-for-4 with a strikeout against the triple-A Columbus Clippers on the 1st.  Iwamura started at third and batted seventh.


Ryohei Tanaka started a double-A game against the Akron Aeros on the 1st and allowed 5 runs (all earned) in 6 innings of work for the loss.  Tanaka is now 4-8 on the year.  Final line: 24 BF, 6 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO.
