...The Tigers announced that Ikketsu Sho will be participating in 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week as a rep for Chinese Taipei. He will likely leave Japan on the 9th to join the Chinese Taipei national team for the tournament taking place in The Netherlands between 7/9 to 7/18.
...Randy Bass on Craig Brazell: "He's got a good batting stance. And he has good power back up the middle. He's a dangerous batter with a lot of pop."
Bass also offered the following advice to Brazell: "I've experienced it before. Walk, walk, walk... As a batter, the only thing you can do is be patient. There will be times when they have to challenge you. And that's when he'll need to step it up. It might be tough, but that's the life of a slugger. ... If there's one thing I can say... He shouldn't try to hit home runs. He should just focus on making solid contact. If he can keep doing that... If he sets a new season record, the club will probably win it all. And I'm sure that'll also make [Akinobu] Mayumi happy too."
