...The Lions will be sending Masamitsu Hirano to the Fresh All-Star game in place of Yusei Kikuchi.  Seems Kikuchi was examined at a hospital on the 5th and diagnosed with minor injury to his left shoulder.

...The Lions announced that doctors could not find any significant / major damage to Takayuki Kishi's right shoulder during examinations on Monday.  They did find some inflammation, but nothing more serious than that.  The Lions currently expect him to be ready to pitch again sometime in early August.

...Dee Brown apparently loves to hit on the road:

AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI SO BB OBP SLG OPS
Home .185 42 151 18 28 7 0 8 59 25 38 23 .294 .391 .685
Road .304 37 138 19 42 7 0 10 79 34 34 15 .373 .572 .945

Sponichi also mentions that Brown had a tough time adjusting to the fork and is only now getting a hang of it (or rather, just wasn't used to seeing so many pitchers throw a fork).

...Seems Yusei Kikuchi may have suffered a setback: Kikuchi was originally scheduled to toss BP on the 8th, but that outing may have to be scratched.  Yesterday, Kikuchi did attend practice at Seibu 2 Stadium, but did not hold a bullpen session, or play catch, and instead spent most of his time in the weight-training room.  Someone involved with the team told reporters that there's a chance he won't be pitching BP on the 8th.

The Lions also decided yesterday that Kikuchi won't be participating in the Fresh All-Star game because he's not ready to pitch yet.  He also won't be a part of the roster that will face the All-Japan University team on the 26th.
