...Yuya Ando will likely get tonight's start against the Yakult Swallows.  It'll be his second Ichi-gun start since being called back up to Ichi-gun on 7/1.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto may be ready to play the field again some time after the All-Star break.  Seems he's throwing the ball with a lot more authority now.

...Takashi Tortani went 1-for-4 last night and has now hit safely in 6 straight game.

...Craig Brazell has driven in at least one run in each of his last 5 games.

...Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi became just the 4th pitcher in NPB history to record his 5th win after turning 42.  Seems the media is also chalking up some of Shimoyanagi's recent success to getting hitched -- since the day he filed marriage papers with his wife, Shimoyanagi has gone 3-0 over 5 starts.  Before that, he 2-4 over 7 starts and was coming off a 3-game losing streak.

...Takumi Akiyama started a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima yesterday and tossed 6 solid innings while giving up 3 runs (only 1 earned).  It also happened to be the first game in which Akiyama threw 100 pitches in one game since turning pro.
