...Matt Murton hit three doubles in his first three at bats during last night's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars.  Murton once tied an MLB record of four doubles in one game back on 8/3/2006 when he played for the Chicago Cubs.

...Takashi Toritani picked up his hit in his final at bat in the top of the 8th and extended his hitting streak to 8 games.  Keiichi Hirano went 2-for-4 and extended his to 9 games while Kenji Jojima extended his to 10 with a 1-for-4 night.

...Potentially bad news for Kazuhito Futagami: he skipped out of practice on the 9th with discomfort in his right elbow.  Futagami apparently started feeling something in his elbow after his outing on the 8th.  He will likely be examined at a hospital some time within the next couple of days.
