...Tomoaki Kanemoto took part in simulated fielding practice during pre-game practice today.  He also worked on his fielding and throwing (transfer from fielding to the throw) prior to the simulated fielding excercise.

...Jason Standridge will likely start tonight's game against the Yomiuri Giants.  Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi will probably get tomorrow's start, followed by Yasutomo Kubo on Thursday (7/15) on 5 days of rest.

...The Tigers appear to be interested in retaining the services of Craig Brazell and Matt Murton for the 2011 season (that's in addition to keeping Akinobu Mayumi around for at least one more season).  They'd be crazy not too.

...Mayumi told reporters that Yuya Ando will be heading to the bullpen, at least temporarily.  The Tigers want to get Ando into a different frame of mind in the hopes that doing so will allow him to get out of his pitching funk.  So far now, Ando will pitch out of the bullpen, at least up until a possible start against the Yakult Swallows on the 18th.

...Kenji Jojima and Murton dropped by the children's wing of an Osaka hospital yesterday.

...Daiki Kiyohara and Koji Yoshioka are competing for Ni-gun start against Softbank on the 18th.  Kiyohara may have taken a slight lead after he tossed four shutout inning in relief in an Ikusei game against Mie Three Arrows (JFBL) on the 11th.
