...Darrell Rasner won his start last night against the Softbank Hawks.  That gives him two victories in back-to-back starts -- a first in his NPB career.

...Kenta Satake was added to the active roster for the first time this season.  Satake has been working his way back from an elbow cleaning he had back in November 2009.  He was originally supposed to be ready in May, but hit a few bumps along the way.

...The Eagles announced that Toru Nimura (Ni-gun manager) has not been feeling well as of late and will take a one week break away from team dutiesKoju Hirohashi (Ni-gun OF and base-running coach) will fill-in for Nimura.

...Darrell Rasner told reporters he knew how important it would be for him to control the Softbank Hawks' running game by keeping them off the base paths.

...Hisashi Iwakuma's last start before the All-Star break will likely be on the 17th against the Nippon Ham Fighters.  And it seems the team is considering putting Iwakuma in the bullpen for the remaining four games on the schedule before the All-Star break.

...Masahiro Tanaka continued his rehab workouts on his day off yesterday.

...The Eagles announced that special limited edition Kuma (as in IwaKUMA) merchandise will be hitting store shelves beginning on the 19th.

...The Eagles will be hosting their 5th annual Eagles' Summer Vacation Essay (第5回楽天イーグルス夏休み観戦感想文コンクール) contest for children between 6 and 12.

...The Eagles have a number of events planned for their home games between 7/30 and 8/25 -- part of Summer Stadium (夏スタ!).
