Games from the 18th:

Mariners 2 - Angels 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-3: fly out to center, ground out to short, IBB, ground out to the pitcher, walk.

Hideki Matsui started in left and batted sixth.  He went 0-for-3: ground out to first, ground out to second, strikeout swinging.  Matsui was removed from the game on defense in the 8th.

Takashi Saito is nursing a sore right shoulder.  He played some catch during pre-game practice on the 18th and said that he was making progress.  When asked about his status for the Braves' upcoming series against the Padres, he told reporters he wasn't sure if he'd be ready yet and that he was taking things one day at a time.

As of now, Hisanori Takahashi is still in the starting rotation -- Charlie Manuel told reporters that he reserves the right to change his mind based on situation / performance.  Takahashi's next start will likely be on the 22nd against the Dodgers.

Incidentally, it seems there's a good change Hiroki Kuroda will be pitching that day for the Dodgers.

Kazuo Matsui went 2-for-4 with a strikeout, a homer, a run scored, and 2 RBI against the triple-A Portland Beavers on the 18th.  He started at second and batted first.

Akinori Iwamura went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks against the triple-A Rochester Red Wings on the 18th.  He started at third and batted second.

Ryohei Tanaka started a double-A game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on the 18th.  He went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs (all earned) on 7 hits and 2 walks.  Tanaka took the loss and fell to 4-10 on the season.  Final line: 23 BF, 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO.
