...Jason Standridge had he day off today from practice due to acute gastroenteritis. Seems he got a fever and had some diarrhea upon returning to his home after his start last night and checked into a hospital for some treatment. His status moving forward will be day-to-day.

...Jason Standridge tossed a 2-hit shutout last night and became the first foreign Hanshin player since Gene Bacque (5/7/1967 vs Hiroshima) to throw a complete game shutout without issuing a walk.
...Prior to his hit in the 8th inning last night, Takashi Toritani had gone 16 straight plate appearances without a hit.
...Kodai Sakurai went 2-for-3 with 5 RBI in a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima yesterday. His two hits included a 3-run bomb in the 5th inning that helped the team win (the Tigers were down 3-1 at the time).
...The Tigers announced that they they re-signed Ikusei player Issei Morita to a regular contract today and assigned him the number 69 (from 122).
...The Tigers will be holding a number of mini-events at Mizuno Square between 7/27 and 8/1.
