...Hiroyuki Nakajima recorded his 1,000th hit last night in his 10th season. He also became the 259th player in NPB history to achieve the milestone. At 896 games, Nakajima also became the second quickest player in franchise history, behind Kazuo Matsui (818 games), to record 1,000 hits. The quickest player in NPB history is Ichiro Suzuki (757 games).
...Yusei Kikuchi played some catch yesterday for the first time since the 4th. He threw 30 pitches at a distance of about 20 meters. Kikuchi had started throwing against a net last week. The plan, at this point, is for him to work up to throwing a bullpen session in early August.
