...Keiichi Hirano is having an impressive July so far: he has 12 multi-hit games (out of a possible 17) and is 31-for-68 (.456) with a 1.016 OPS.

...The Hiroshima Carp may have figured out a way to slow down Matt Murton.  They kept the hit machine hitless during a recent three game series (0-for-11).  For Murton, it was the first time this season that he was held hitless in consecutive games.  The All-Star break could be coming at just the right time.

...Jason Standridge visited the clubhouse yesterday to give the team an update on his status but did not attend pre-game practice (he's suffering from acute gastroenteritis).  The team is planning on giving Standridge a mini-break through to the 23rd.

...Keiji Uezono is apparently Ni-gun bound after allowing 6 runs (5 earned) over 3 innings of work last night.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto picked up a walk in the 6th inning last night.  The walk gives him 1,275 over his career, and moved him passed Isao Harimoto for sole possession of 4th place on the All-time list.
