Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted sixth.  He went 1-for-3: fly out to center, double to left-center, ground out to the pitcher.

Red Sox 8 - Mariners 6
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  he went 1-for-5: fly out to left, line out to the pitcher, strikeout looking, fly out to left, IBB, infield single.

Hideki Okajima entered the game in the 11th for Boston, with the score tied at 6-6, and picked up his third win by tossing two shutout inning in relief.  Okajima is now 3-4 on the year.  Final line: 2 IP, 9 BF, 2 H, 1 SO, 1 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

A day after making his first appearance since injuring his right shoulder, Takashi Saito told reporters that his shoulder was feeling great and that he needed to remind himself to pitch with authority and not get too caught up in possibility of hurting himself again.

Kazuo Matsui entered the game in the top of the 7th as a defensive replacement and went 0-for-2 against the Sacramento River Cats on the 22nd.  Matsui took over Troy Tulowitzki's spot in the line-up and took over at second.
