WUBC: Japan beats Mitsubishi Juko Yokohama in practice game

Team Japan played Industrial league team Mitsubishi Juko Yokohama in a practice game earlier today and beat them, 3-2Yuki Saito got the sart and gave up a run on 3 hits over 4 innings of work.  Saito threw a total 73 pitches and also struck out 6 batters.  Tatsuya Oishi also tossed two shutout inning in the game.

On offense, Seiya Inoue hit a solo home in the 5th.  Lead-off batter Daichi Suzuki went 3-for-3.

The schedule for Team Japan moving forward: a practice game on the 25th and then the NPB Fresh All-Stars game on the 26th.


In other news, Cuba apparently isn't too worried about making it passed Japan.  The team from Cuba held a press conference in Tokyo earlier today to field some question about the WUBC.
