Jason Standridge to get first start after All-Star break

Jason Standridge will likely get the Tigers' first start after the All-Star break (27th vs Yokohama Bay Stars at Koshien Stadium).  On Saturday, Standridge took part in full squad practice and held a bullpen session.

In other team related news...

...Minoru Iwata (left elbow) could begin throwing in the bullpen some time in early August, making a return to the active roster before the end of the season a distinct possibility.  Iwata started playing catch again in June and has slowly been increasing the distance of those sessions over time.  If his arm is feeling fine after playing catch on the 26th, 28th, and 30th, the next step will be to hold a light bullpen session sometime during the first half of August.

The Tigers should also have a better idea of Atsushi Nomi's schedule moving forward once he gets his right foot reexamined on the 29th.  If everything checks out ok, Nomi could begin running sprints and throwing bullpen sessions soon.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto went all out during practice (which also involved lots of running in hot weather) yesterday in preparation for the start of the second half.
