Jason Standridge to start tomorrow’s game for the Tigers

by on Jul.26, 2010 @ 11:06 pm, under NPB

Jason Standridge spent some time playing catch and running sprints during practice at Koshien Stadium today. He'll likely get tomorrow's start against the Yokohama Bay Stars.  Standridge is 5-0 in 9 starts since a loss on 5/16 (vs Rakuten).

Randy Messenger, Naoto Tsuru, Yasutomo Kubo, and Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi will probably following Standridge.  After that, Ryuji Wakatake could get a start as the 6th man.

In other clubs news:

Kyuji Fujikawa told reporters that the delivery he used during the first game of the All-Star Series on Friday was specifically designed to help him throw the fastball during his one inning outing.  Seems Fujikawa doesn't use the same form during the regular season because of the amount of strain it places on his body.

And Akihiro Yano announced earlier today that he was establishing a foundation to help children with muscular dystrophy get electronic wheelchairs.  Fans interested in donating to his cause can do so via Yahoo Volunteer Donations (in Japanese).
