7/27/2010: Hideki Matsui, Ichiro Suzuki, Akinori Iwamura

Games from the 26th:

Red Sox 6 - Angels 3
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fifth.  He went 2-for-3: walk, single to left, fly out to right, 2-run homer.  Matsui has now hit safely in 6 straight games and has homered in two straight.

White Sox 6 - Mariners 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-4: fly out to left, fly out to second, single to left, infield single.  Ichiro also made a great catch in the 6th (MLB vid).

Kazuo Matsui went 0-for-4 against the triple-A Salt Lake Bees on the 26th.  He started at second and batted second.

Akinori Iwamura went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, an RBI, and a strikeout against the triple-A Charlotte Knights on the 26th.  Iwamura started at third an batted second.

Ryota Igarashi gave up 4 runs (two earned) in a 1.0 inning relief appearance against the triple-A Toledo Mud Hens on the 26th.  He took the loss in the outing and is now 0-1 with the Buffalo.  Final line: 33 (22) NP (S), 8 BF, 1 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO, 0 HR.

Ryohei Tanaka tossed 1.1 innings in relief against the double-A Akron Aeros on the 26th.  Tanaka gave up a run and got the win.  He is now 5-11 on the year.  Final line: 7 BF, 1.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.
