7/28/2010: Hideki Matsui, Ryota Igarashi, Ichiro Suzuki

Games from the 27th:

Red Sox 4 - Angels 2
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fifth.  He went 0-for-3: foul out to left, strikeout swinging, ground out to second, walk.  Matsui was replaced by a pinch-runner after his walk in the 8th inning.  Matsui's 6-game hitting streak also came to an end.

White Sox 11 - Mariners 0
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-4: E3, ground out to short, fly out to center, strikeout swinging.  Ichiro was held hitless for the 6th time in 13 games after he All-Star break.

Astros 6 - Cubs 1
Kosuke Fukudome entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the top of the 8th and grounded out to second.  He did not take the field in the bottom of the inning.

Kazuo Matsui went 0-for-4 with 2 strikeouts against the triple-A Sacramento River Cats on the 27th.  Matsui started at second and batted second.

Akinori Iwamura went 0-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and 2 strikeouts against the triple-A Syracuse Chief on the 27th.  Iwamura started at third and batted second.

Ryota Igarashi tossed a shutout inning in relief against the triple-A Columbus Clippers and picked up his first triple-A save of the season.  Final line: 22 (13) NP (S), 4 BF, 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.
