Keiichi Yabu signs a deal with the Rakuten Eagles

Yabu's deal is worth 10M yen and runs through to the end of the season. He also apparently hit 144km/h on the radar gun during a situational game on the 30th. The Eagles are ultimately hoping they'll be able to use him for 1-2 inning middle relief innings.

It's official: the Eagles have made the announcement. They also assigned Yabu the number 64.

It would appear as though Keiichi Yabu has signed a deal with the Rakuten Eagles and that an announcement is forthcoming.
Incidentally, his tryouts took place over two days (29th and 30th).
