Eri Yoshida gets hit hard again

Eri Yoshida got the start against the Calgary Vipers on 8/1 and gave up 8 runs (6 earned) over 1.1 innings of work. She did not factor into the final decisions.  Final line: 51 (23) NP (S), 13 BF, 1.1 IP, 5 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 2 HBP, 0 SO.

Yoshida is now 0-3 with a 12.68 ERA over 7 starts so far this season.

The Outlaws had an 11-run first inning and held on to win, 16-13.

Inning-by-inning

1st inning - 4 runs

walk, E4, fly out to center, 3-run homer (2 earned, 1 unearned), single, ground out to third (FC), RBI single (unearned), fly out to left

2nd inning - 4 runs

single, HBP, RBI single, HBP, RBI grounder to third (FC)

Notes: Yoshida left the game with runners on first and third.  Both runners ended up scoring before the end of the inning.

    Ah, that’s too bad. Now, it looks like she really needs a great outing next start.
    On a side note, I saw her when Chico played Orange County last month.

    She did not play in that series but I was amused by the fact that she was always tossing a ball in the air and working on her grip, while in the dugout. She definitely has the drive to succeed. She even spits sunflower seeds like the rest of the guys.

    And she was really nice when I got a chance to speak with her. She gave time to all the fans who wanted autographs and pictures.
