The Lions held a press conference on Friday to announce that additional punishments were handed down by the parent company, Seibu Holdings, to various personnel in the front office. They include warnings to club president Shinji Kobayashi, general manager Kosuke Maeda, farm director Koji Fukushima, and Ni-gun manager Hisataka Yukizawa.
The Lions also announced that they will be taking the following three steps in order to prevent another Okubo-situation from happening again:
- They will not tolerate physical abuse as a coaching tool
- Open the lines of communication between the team's player's union with monthly meetings
- Farm director Koji Fukushima will oversee Ni-gun manager Hisataka Yukizawa
