The Swallows just finished a three game series against the Yokohama Bay Stars in which they scored 37 runs on 55 hits (including 7 homers). The 55 hits actually established a new league record for hits during a three game series (previously held by both the 1952 Yomiuri Giants and the 1990 Taiyo Whales). Incidentally, the NPB record of 63 hits was set by the 2003 Daiei Hawks.
Of course, what doesn't get mentioned much is how the Bay Stars came away with 15 runs on 39 hits. Any other team and the results could have been a lot more different.
