There was some hope that Atsushi Nomi (cuneiform fracture dislocation) might be able to return to the field some time this month, but it now seems as though he won't be returning until next month. It appears the club is interested in making sure he's 100% healthy when he returns than rushing him back prematurely.
Nomi told reporters yesterday that his foot was fine, his shoulder was feeling good, and that he didn't want to rush himself. Nomi has already: increased his bullpen workload to 60 pitches; held bullpen sessions on consecutive days; taken part in fielding drills; taken part in uphill sprints.
Moving forwards, Nomi will likely toss some BP and pitch in a simulated game. Past that, he'll likely pitch in a few Ni-gun games before making his way back to the active roster.
