by on Aug.13, 2010 @ 1:17 am, under High School

The Hiroshima Board of Education handed down a one month pay cut for a former high school baseball manager that was found to be physically abusing his players (corporal punishiment).

According to their report, the former manager hit five baseball players (in please like the head) between May 2009 and June 2010.  And after one particularly bad practice game in March 2010, he had 14 players run the distance between the baseball field and the school (a distance of about 15km).  One of the 14 students was reportedly sent to the hospital due to dehydration.

The abusive punishments came to light in June 2010 and the teacher was dismissed from his post as manager of the team on June 14th.
