8/14/2010: Ichiro Suzuki, Ryota Igarashi, Hiroki Kuroda

Games from the 13th:

Mariners 3 - Indians 2
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-5: infield single (SB), single to center, strikeout swinging, strikeout swinging, strikeout swinging.

Ichiro is 1 hit away from 150 on the season.  He also struck out three times for the fourth time this season.

Orioles 5 - Rays 0
Koji Uehara entered the game in the 7th with the Braves up 7-0 and tossed two shutout inning in relief.  Final line: 2 IP, 7 BF, 1 H, 1 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

Cardinals 6 - Cubs 3
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-3: ground out to first, walk, ground out to the pitcher, ground out to third.

Braves 1 - Dodgers 0
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and gave up a run (on a solo homer in the 7th) over 7 innings of work and took the loss.  Kuroda is now 8-11 on the year.  Final line: 7 IP, 27 BF, 4 H, 3 SO, 2 BB, 1 R, 1 ER.


Ryota Igarashi was sent back to the minors on the 13th.  Igarashi seemed to understand the situation (a temporary solution while Francisco Rodriguez served his 2-game suspension) and told reporters that all he wanted to do was make sure he was ready to put up results the next time he was called up.


Kazuo Matsui went 2-for-4 against the triple-A Memphis Redbirds on the 13th.  Matsui started at second and batted second.


Akinori Iwamura entered the game in the bottom of the 7th as a pinch-hitter against the triple-A Syracuse Chief on the 13th and hit a single. Iwamura stayed in the game and took over at third in the top of the 8th.


Kento Tsujimoto tossed a shutout inning in relief against the Yuma Scorpions on the 12th.  Tsujimoto entered the game in the 9th with Maui up 6-1.  Final line: 4 BF, 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO.
