The Hawks announced that Matsunaka was dianosed with an injury to the triangular fibrocartilage complex in his left wrist due to inflammation. Not exactly sure how serious an injury that is, but it seems Matsunaka is hoping to return sometime during the current season.
It seems Jose Ortiz will forgo surgery on his right knee and concentrate his efforts on getting back to the active roster in September. Based on his current progress, Ortiz should be able to start a running program as early as the 17th.
Nobuhiko Matsunaka had his left wrist re-examined yesterday. While the club has not released exact details of the results, it seems that they were able to re-confirm that inflammation was the cause of the pain. Matsunaka is scheduled to begin his rehab today and the club will see how he fares over the next few days before deciding on whether or not he'll need surgery.
