Hiroshima citizens not giving up on old Hiroshima Stadium

by on Aug.23, 2010 @ 6:57 pm, under NPB

It seems about 120 Hiroshima residents filed a temporary motion to stop the destruction of the old Hiroshima Stadium earlier today.  The residents apparently feel the stadium has become a symbol of Hiroshima revival after the atomic bomb and a part of their identity.  They also mentioned Article 13 of the Constitution of Japan as part of their argument (that is, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness).

If the temporary motion is discarded, the residents apparently plan on taking the case to the courts.
