Kazuo Matsui went 1-for-4 with a walk against the triple-A Fresno Grizzlies on the 24th.  He started at second and batted first.

Ryohei Tanaka started a game against the double-A Akron Aeros on the 24th and gave up 5 runs (1 earned) over 4 innings of work.  Tanaka got the loss and dropped to 6-12 on the year.  Final line: 20 BF, 4 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO, 2 HR.

It was Japanese Heritage Night at AT&T park on the 24th.  Masanori Murakami, the first Japanese player to make his debut in the MLB, was a special guest.
