My grandmother passes away at 102

by on Aug.26, 2010 @ 11:43 am, under Site Updates

This has absolutely nothing to do with baseball, but it does have everything to do with me so I've decided to mention it here.

My grandmother passed away at 10:40am this morning at the age of 102.

I don't know anything else other than that.  My mother just called, told me of the news, and then asked that I call my father and my sister.

I'm not sure exactly how this will affect my update schedule here at the blog.  If there are any significant changes, I'll be sure to let all of you know.  For the time being, I'll be posting updates as usual.  But for the rest of today, all of my posts will be in honor of my grandmother.

My heartfelt condolences from a LONG TIME LURKER, first time poster. If your grandmother was anything like the Japanese grandmothers I know, she lived a very full life every single day. It is truly amazing to think your grandmother was born in 1907 – WOW! To see and witness the history that she saw is something to behold. I know that I won’t see nearly the history that your grandmother saw and experienced. Thank you so very much for this website and when I am in Japan (and if you are as well), I am pretty certain that I owe you a nice dinner for as much time as I spend on this site! It is simply amazing!

My condolences as well, sorry to hear about that news. We appreciate all that you do here but take all the time you need to take care of what your family needs in this time of loss.

I will also offer my condolences like so many on this site. I hope that she passed peacefully. Take all the time you need, you certainly deserve it considering how much you update this site.
