Shinta Hifumi considering future as position player?

It seems Shinta Hifumi wouldn't mind pursuing a career as a position player instead of a pitcher. The Hiroshima Carp have actually listed Hifumi as a position player while the Nippon Ham Fighters have him listed as both a pitcher and a position player.
Incidentally, Hifumi went 12-for-21 (including a homer) during the Summer Koshien.
