It seems an emergency owner's meeting has been scheduled for the 28th, ahead of the usual November meetings. The owners apparently want to get a jump on putting together the framework for a new pension system (the current system runs out in March 2012).
The NPB has started providing explanations to retired players while working with the player's association on creating the structure for the new system. A number of items regarding the new system will also be discussed during the next executive committee meeting on the 6th.
With time beginning to run out, everyone involved is in a rush to get something hammered out before the March 2012 expiration date.
