This was Okajima's third appearance in as many days. The last time he did that was back in 9/2008.
Nationals 13 - Mets 3
Ryota Igarashi entered the game in the 6th, with the Mets down 7-3, and gave up 5 runs over an inning of work. Igarashi also served up a grand slam. Final line: 1 IP, 8 BF, 2 H, 1 SO, 3 BB, 5 R, 5 ER.
Akinori Iwamura went 0-for-1 with a walk and strikeout against the triple-A Louisville Bats on the 6th. Iwamura started at third and batted second. Iwamura was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the 6th.
For Iwamura, it seems his ultimate desire is to play for a team that wants. Matsui just wants a chance at playing everyday.
Sponichi posted an article about Mac Suzuki that touches on how much he loves to play baseball and wants to keep playing for as long as possible.
Suzuki has played in a number of countries over the years, including Mexico, the US, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Taiwan. Seems he also has his eye on playing in Korea and Italy.
