We hope we haven't seen the last of Yoshida. Actually, we hope we haven't seen the last of the Outlaws. It will be an interesting offseason. We hope the Outlaws are back next year to defend their championship, but the league's lease with Chico State University to rent the baseball stadium has expired.
With 10 teams spread out over three countries and four states, including Hawaii, running the league is an expensive proposition. Every offseason, the teams change. This offseason will be no exception.
It should have been better for Chico in the postseason. It wasn't. When the playoffs rolled around, Chico got stuck with three weeknight home games and crowds were in the hundreds, not the thousands.
As for Eri Yoshida, she managed to catch a Red Sox game at Fenway Park on the 21st. She also got to meet Tim Wakefield again.
