The Ibaraki Golden Golds dropped their game against Sirius at the Kamisu Mayor's Cup on the 19th, thereby putting an end to their official 2010 season.
After the loss, Kinichi Hagimoto told reporters he was done, signaling the end of his career as manager of the Golden Golds. Hagimoto also shot down any thoughts of his return as a director or general manager of the team.
Golden Goldens manager Hagimoto also apparently suggested that 23-year-old Ayumi Kataoka (INF) be considered as a potential managing candidate. Seems she might be the most obvious choice because she's a known personality and also appears to have gained and learned the most from Hagimoto's teachings over the years.
The Golden Golds still do have a number of exhibition games left to play this year. Hagimoto's last game as manager will likely be at what has become something of an annual event -- a game against Daisuke Matsuzaka and the Samurai's in December.
