Tomohiro Nioka leaves with ring finger injury

by on Sep.25, 2010 @ 4:30 am, under NPB

Tomohiro Nioka (HAM) squared around to bunt in the 6th inning, but was instead hit by a pitch on his right ring finger as he tried to pull away from an inside pitch.  Nioka was removed from the game and taken to a hospital when they found that his finger was bleeding.

It was later revealed in another report that Nioka did not suffer any structural damage to his finger and was diagnosed with a contusion and a laceration.  Since Nioka won't be able to play with the injury, the Fighters are expected to take him off the active roster later today.
