9/26/2010 Sunday Morning Quick Round-up

by on Sep.26, 2010 @ 6:57 am, under NPB

Kenji Jojima set a new Hanshin Tigers' franchise record for hits in a season by a catcher last night when he picked up his 156th hit of the year, a single to right, in the 6th inning.

Kan Otake (right shoulder) and Katsuhiro Nagakawa (right leg adductor muscle) didn't give the Carp much this season.  Seems the two of them are continuing with their rehab at San-gun (neither have pitched off a mound yet) and are looking toward being 100% for the 2011 season.  And Mike Schultz, coming off back surgery, apparently held his first bullpen session on the 22nd.

The Yokohama Bay Stars are just one loss away from becoming the first team in the NPB to record three consecutive 90-loss seasons.

When the Yakult Swallows lost to the Yomiuri Giants last night, it guaranteed them another losing season against them.  That's 10 straight seasons of losing to the Yomiuri Giants.

The mammoth mosaic picture the Fighters were working on was completed and unveiled on Saturday at Sapporo Dome.  You can actually view it online here.
