It appears Ni-gun batting coach Mitsuru Manaka could be on his way to becoming Ni-gun manager.
The Yakult Swallows announced yesterday that Ni-gun manager Hiroshige Saruwatari and Ni-gun batting coach Takuji Ota finished out their contracts and were leaving the team. They also said that Manaka would be taking over the Ni-gun team until the team figured out how to fill the open coaching positions. Now it seems Manaka may just end up becoming the full-time Ni-gun manager.
But then where does that leave Daisuke Araki?
He's apparently planning on turning down the Ni-gun manager position and could instead return to the team next year as Ichi-gun chief pitching coach.
