9/29/2010: Hideki Matsui, Ichiro Suzuki, Kosuke Fukudome

Games from the 28th:

Angels 4 - Athletics 2
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted sixth.  He went 2-for-4: single to left, single to right, RBI ground out to second, ground out to first.

Matsui is now 5 hits away from his 2,500th NPB + MLB hit.

Mariners 3 - Rangers 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-4: single to left, fly out to left, infield hit, ground out to the pitcher.

Cubs 5 - Padres 2
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-5: fly out to left, strike out swinging, RBI double to left-center, fly out to right, ground out to second.

Dodgers 9 - Rockies 7
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and gave up 5 runs over 6.1 innings of work.  He was not involved in the final decision.  Final line: 6.1 IP, 26 BF, 6 H, 6 SO, 1 BB, 5 R, 5 ER.


Takashi Saito had his right shoulder checked out on the 28th and was apparently told that there were no problems.  As such, Saito started playing catch again in order to check on how his shoulder was feeling.  Assuming no problems, Saito will get to pitch in the bullpen on the 29th.
