Murton sets new CL hit record; Ishikawa eclipses 1,500 inning mark

Matt Murton (HAN) set a new Central League record for hits in a season last night with his 205th hit of the season in the 6th inning off Tetsuya UtsumiAlex Ramirez set the previous CL record of 204 in 2007.


Heading into last night's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars, Masanori Ishikawa (YAK) had recorded 1,499.2 innings over his career.  Ishikawa struck out the first batter he faced in the first inning and became the 163rd pitcher in NPB history to reach the 1,500 inning mark.
