10/1/2010: Hideki Matsui, Ichiro Suzuki, Ryota Igarashi

Games from the 30th:

Athletics 8 - Mariners 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-5: single to left, ground out to the pitcher, fly out to center, E6, infield single.

Ichiro now has 210 hits on the year.

Rangers 3 - Angels 2
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted sixth. He went 1-for-4: single to right, fly out to center, ground out to second, ground out to first.

Matsui is now 4 hits away from his 2,500th NPB + MLB career hit.

Brewers 9 - Mets 2
Ryota Igarashi entered the game in the 7th, with the Mets down 4-1, and retired the side in order. Final line: 1 IP, 3 BF, 0 H, 0 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.


Kosuke Fukudome was held out of the game on the 30th with discomfort in his left knee.  Fukudome apparently hurt the knee while stealing third the day before.


Daisuke Matsuzaka will likely start his last game of the season on 10/1 (vs Yankees).  Matsuzaka returned to Boston on the 30th, ahead of the rest of the team in order to prepare for the start.


Hiroki Kuroda told reporters he's open to playing anywhere, Japan or the US.


The Athletics have shown interest in Hideki Matsui.
