Leon Lee appears to be another potential candidate for the open Rakuten Eagles managing position. The plan also apparently includes signing his son, Derrek Lee, to back clean-up.
The Eagles like the elder Lee because he has a connection to Sendai, back when he played for Lotte (the the Lotte organization had ties to Sendai). Lee also has experience managing a Japanese club -- he took over as manager of the 2003 Orix team 20 games into the season and finished in 6th with 41-76-3 record.
As for the Derrek... He might cost the club a pretty penny, but Sports Hochi seems to think that the Eagles might be willing to spend the money if they can make it up with the posting of Hisashi Iwakuma.
As for the rumors about Katsuya Nomura or Yasushi Tao returning... They aren't true, at least according to Sports Hochi.
