The Hanshin Tigers started full-squad practice sessions today.
It seems there a chance Tomoaki Kanemoto will be back in the starting line-up and batting out of the 5-spot during the Climax Series (assuming his shoulder condition doesn't worsen between now and the start of the First Stage of the Climax Series).
The Tigers continue to tinker with Craig Brazell's swing. Brazell faltered a bit towards the end of the season, but I'm not sure if it's something the Tigers really need to be concerned about. Although I should probably note the Sanspo article I have linked to isn't necessarily pointing Brazell out so much as it is saying the team is working on making sure that everyone stay sharp for the Climax Series.
Minoru Iwata is currently set to start a Phoenix League game against Lotte on the 20th (3 inning limit). If he's fine after that start, he'll likely start another Phoenix League game on the 26th against Yomiuri.
While Kazuya Tsutsui may end up being the only lefty in the Tigers' bullpen during the First Stage of the Climax Series, Iwata might be able to join him for the Nippon Series (assuming the club makes it that far).
The Hanshin Tigers are thinking about offering a Ni-gun coaching job to Mitsunobu Takahashi next season. The Hiroshima Carp are also rumored to be interested in offering Tigers' Ni-gun batting coach Kojiro Machida a coaching job with their team.
The Tigers may be thinking about increasing the number of ikusei players on their roster and may even consider foreign players as well.
