Ichi-gun Fall practice started at Mazda Stadium on Saturday. Kan Otake, currently making his way back from right shoulder pain at San-gun, joined the Ichi-gun roster on Saturday and worked on his rehab training. He also played some catch for the first time in about a week.
Said Otake, "I want to do what I can within my current limits. Getting my shoulder better is my top priority. I'm still not allowed to do any real throwing. [Today's session of playing catch] was more about airing out the shoulder a little."

Kenjiro Nomura held a staff meeting on Friday to go over training menus for fall practice that begins on the 16th, and Fall camp that begins on the 29th. "Great batters and pitchers have all experienced at least one practice where they though they would die. The player that practice, wins. It's all about whether or not you can do it."
And while pitchers may not have an increase in the number of pitches they'll be tossing, the Carp plan to increase the areas in which pitchers throw during long distance catch and infield drills.
